Southern System Supply Shortage

Notice Text
SoCalGas and SDG&E are currently experiencing a shortage of supply into the Southern System. Incoming supply is not meeting the Southern System minimum requirements.

To the extent possible SoCalGas and SDG&E are taking operational measures to manage the impact of the Southern System supply deficit.

Customers have been reducing previously scheduled supply in later cycles. This late-cycle behavior is adding significant strain to the Southern System at a time when supply is already below minimum requirements. If this continues, SoCalGas and SDG&E may take further operational precautions, including the issuance of a Curtailment Watch and/or the issuance of a Curtailment to Noncore Customers, in accordance with SoCalGas Rule 23 and SDG&E Rule 14.

Customers are urged to work with their suppliers to align usage with scheduled deliveries into the Southern System. Maintaining balance between usage and scheduled deliveries is critical to supporting system reliability.

Customers and suppliers are advised to monitor Envoy for further updates as conditions evolve.
