Notice Regarding System Variations on EPNG:
El Paso Natural Gas Company, L.L.C. (“EPNG”) continues to experience significant variations between scheduled quantities and actual flows on its system, which impacts our ability to manage linepack. If allowed to continue, these variations could adversely affect system integrity.
EPNG reminds shippers that these variations resulting from non-operational practices, such as intentionally over- or under-nominating quantities to or at interconnects, are prohibited by EPNG's FERC Gas Tariff, Third Revised Volume No. 1A, as it may be amended from time to time (the “Tariff”). Shippers are obligated, with the recognition of operational variations, to conform quantities to be received and delivered with those scheduled and confirmed for each nomination cycle. EPNG may be requesting burn profiles for which shippers and/or point operators are obligated to respond so that EPNG can properly assess these operational needs. As a further reminder, if a shipper utilizes an agent as point operator, that shipper remains responsible for the conduct of the agent.
To protect system integrity, EPNG will be taking steps as authorized by the Tariff, including aligning a point operator's confirmations to reflect more accurately previous actual flows, declaring strained operating conditions, or taking other authorized measures it deems necessary.
