Algonquin Operational Notice - UPDATE
During periods of high utilization on Algonquin (AGT), specific locations on AGT's system that currently are not identified as restriction locations, have been operating at or near its operational capacity. As such, AGT will begin to post these new nodes on its Operational Capacity Maps and may begin restrictions when the system is at its operational capacity beginning as early as November 1, 2026. These two new restriction nodes are located:
(i) Downstream of the Burrillville Compressor Station east of the "G" system on the mainline (downstream of point 80035) and
(ii) South of the "G-5" System on the "G" system (downstream of 80037).
These two new potential constraint locations will be identified on AGT's Operational Capacity Maps as "East of G system" and "G-System South of G-5". AGT anticipates that during periods of high demand these new locations may require throughput constraints which will require additional scheduling restrictions.
As previously noted, beginning on Gas Day November 1, 2026, AGT will consider these new potential restriction locations and may be required to schedule volumes sourced at receipt points upstream of these new locations for delivery downstream of these location. Further delineation of new constraint points will continue to be reviewed on an on-going basis and will be posted as soon as practical attempting to provide shippers with as much notice as possible.
Furthermore, all holders of firm capacity should verify the utilization of their contracts to maximize their entitlements rights downstream of these locations. In accordance with its FERC Gas Tariff, AGT reserves capacity for primary firm "no-notice" transactions. Additionally, firm contract holders are reminded that, in accordance with FERC policy and the AGT's FERC Gas Tariff, once timely nominations have been scheduled for a given day, primary firm cannot bump secondary firm nominations.
Maintaining a balance on a daily basis between scheduled and actual volumes will minimize the possibility of AGT having to initiate Operational Flow Orders (OFOs) for delivery point operators downstream of these locations, hourly restrictions or other tariff-based measures to protect system integrity and firm service. However, to the extent customers do not adhere to such requirements and if necessary to maintain system reliability for firm transportation, AGT will issue OFOs which will require Point Operators to limit actual daily or hourly takes out of the system to quantities which are less than or equal to scheduled quantities plus posted tolerances.
